Hilde Maelstaf is a lecturer at the Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerp, social work, and has been associated since 1995, with educational specialisation in: research methods for Bachelor's students and practical research in the social working environment and general sociology and sociology for social work.
From the start of the first PMO call in 2005, she has been active in research. The research topics are diverse, but always have a strong agogic and practical character. Two basic elements form the recurring theme: vulnerable/unknown groups or problems and new or renewed forms of society. The following themes were or are central to the research carried out: alcoholism among the elderly, older prisoners, internees, people with a disability, sustainability and ecology.
