Yasmine Wauthier works as a researcher in the Research Group Lifelong Learning and Innovation (OLLI) and the Immersive Lab research group of the AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts Antwerp.
So far, her work life has taken several detours into different sectors and subjects. Because everything is interesting. Several themes recur: education, psychology, and technology. Luckily, she has always been able to combine these interests in different ways: instructional design, educational technology, virtual reality in education, quality assurance in higher education, didactic support for digital learning, ... “As long as I can research, develop, create and learn.”
She has a bachelor’s degree in primary teaching, recognised degrees in graphic design and web design, a professional master’s degree (NL) in Social Psychology and is currently finishing a master’s degree in developmental and educational psychology. She attended the Masterclass (NL) Virtual Reality in Education and a postgraduate programme in Immersive storytelling in VR. She has experience with researching, implementing & supporting the development of digital learning and experience within quality assurance in higher education. Her areas of expertise include education and training in extended reality (XR), digital and immersive learning, didactics, and educational quality within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
