Ready to start an unforgettable journey in Antwerp, where you'll dive into the vibrant world of tourism, hotel, and hospitality management?

What?

FlaHost is a unique international hotel & hospitality programme brought to you by AP University of Applied Sciences & Arts and is designed to equip yourself with the knowledge and skills to excel in this fast-evolving industry. You will team up with other students and AP experts to improve your English fluency as well as your communication, intercultural and teamwork skills while focusing on the hospitality sector. Steer towards an exciting international career as you expand your qualifications in a European metropole.

The programme offers a dynamic learning method that consists of two mandatory courses and a selection of courses to enhance your academic enrichment.
The two modules have six weeks of courses followed by an exam period, so no overwhelming course loads there! You’ll get a student-friendly timetable at campus Meistraat (AP) right in the city center.

But wait, there’s more! You’re invited to unleash your full potential! We offer you the unique possibility to do an internship at a renowned hotel during the semester. With our contacts all over Flanders’ hotels, we allow you to combine living in bustling Antwerp and working in historic Bruges or buzzing Ghent thanks to ‘Internship in Hospitality/1-2 (9 ECTS or 15 ECTS)’. We tailor a plan with you to make this internship blend with the other courses & projects. You can imagine how great this experience is going to look on your Curriculum Vitae!

Collaboration with Thomas More University College Mechelen

We've established a partnership with Thomas More, located at the campus ‘De Vest’ in Mechelen. Thomas More is another university college within the Antwerp province, specializing in Tourism. If you find yourself short of credits here at AP for building your exchange program, or if you're intrigued by this unique opportunity, you have the option to incorporate courses offered at our partner institution Thomas More.

The journey by train from Antwerp to Mechelen typically lasts around 20 minutes. Both of our campuses are conveniently situated within a 10-minute walk from the train station.

Enrollment in both schools is mandatory if you select courses at both institutions. However, please note that due to potential course overlaps, your learning agreement may undergo changes until an exact timetable is finalized (usually at the beginning of September).

For Dutch students:  Starting from 2024-2025 we are organizing a Minor FlaHost. You now have the opportunity to combine this FlaHost-programme with Flemish courses from the Hotel Management Bachelor. How good does ‘Wijn- en drankenleer’ or ‘Actuele topics in E-hospitality’ sound? Please check the Minor FlaHost programme.

For who?

Incoming Erasmus students from one of our partner universities studying Hotel Management or Tourism can participate.

Are you interested in our International Programmes and your university is not one of our partners yet? Please ask your International Office to contact ours.
