With this funding, the Immersive Lab is establishing a Creative AI Sandbox. This sandbox stimulates the latest AI production workflows, allowing us to create traditional audiovisual and immersive content with accessible AI tools. Thanks to this expansion, Immersive Lab can continue to fulfill its R&D function for the creative sector (media, production houses, design, and Extended Reality) and devise accessible solutions for labor-intensive production workflows. This enables the Flemish creative industry to implement revolutionary generative AI technologies – such as text-to-image / text-to-video (converting text prompts into photos/videos), real-time AI, NeRFs (converting 2D photos into 3D objects), and AI motion capture – and thus play a leading role at the international level.
