Florian Stigter Van Thillo

Florian graduated from the Graphic and Digital Media program at AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts. During his studies, he specialized in Extended Reality (XR), generative AI, 3D design, and front-end development. He completed an internship at the Immersive Lab, where he gained knowledge in procedural software such as SideFX Houdini, Blender, as well as Real-Time Engines like Unity and Unreal Engine. For his graduation project, Florian developed his own VR case: 'DiagnoVR', a prototype tool that can be used in diagnostics to identify ADHD and ASD in children.

Keerthanan Vignarajah

Keerthanan Vignarajah graduated with a bachelor's degree in Graphic & Digital Media from AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts. He specialised as a 3D modeler and impressed the Flanders DC jury, which scouts young design talents every year, with his bachelor's thesis. Keerthanan was named one of the top 25 design talents of 2021. He surprised the jury with his graduation project, an animation video that makes the effects of pollution on the climate and ocean tangible. Since 2022, he has been working as a researcher for the Immersive Lab.

Lowie Spriet

Lowie Spriet is the Technology Research Lead and researcher at the Immersive Lab of AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts. With a background in Electronics-ICT, AI, and game design, he collaborated with the company Rombit to create a full-stack facial recognition prototype for applications in the Port of Antwerp. He contributed to various projects, such as the VR project in collaboration with Antwerp city poet Maud Vanhauwaert, which was showcased at the Wintervuur Festival in 2019. He also worked on the Holo-Robotics project, for which his team won the IoT Audience Award.

Lara Hallam

Lara Hallam (Ph.D. in Communication Sciences) is a guest professor and researcher at AP University College within the Department of Business & Law. Her research domains include the functioning of interpersonal relationships within technological applications, and sustainability values and attitudes. Additionally, she is part of the Immersive Lab, where she focuses on the role of embodiment within virtual reality environments.

Karen Pauwels

Karen Pauwels has been a researcher at AP Hogeschool since 2021, where she is part of the research groups Media, Design, and IT and the Immersive Lab. Her background in Graphic and Digital Media, also at AP Hogeschool, laid the foundation for her current role as a researcher. After completing her studies in 2020, she participated in AP Hogeschool's Summer School on Immersive Storytelling in VR. Currently, Karen focuses on how various storytelling techniques can enhance the engagement of XR users in the Immersive Lab.
